Trenchless Main Replacement

Trenchless technology is revolutionizing the industry and changing the way pipe repair, replacement and isntallation is done. In the past, the replacement of sewer, water, gas, and other underground pipes involved trenching the entire length of the line.

As trenchless experts in the Bay Area, we rely on advanced plumbing techniques such as the trenchless replacement, we dig two holes, one at the beginning and one at the end of the line, and insert a cable into the existing line. The cable is attached to our pulling equipment at one end and a steel splitting wedge at the other. The ram then pulls the splitting head through the old pipe, bursting it as it goes. The head brings the new polyethylene pipe behind it until the line is replaced. It is low-impact and completely trenchless.

Consider us your trenchless experts in the Bay Area and rely on our expertise for all your line inspection, repair, replacement and installation needs including advanced leak detectionpipeline video inspection and much more.

Express Plumbing can offer both PIPE LINING and PIPE BURSTING technologies:

PIPE LINING: The damaged pipe is lined with a permanent epoxy resin that hardens to create a new pipe, solving your drain and sewer problems - this technology can SAVE YOUR EXISTING PIPES. We have options to save sewer lines that other companies can only replace. Many times, pipe relining can be performed through a building's clean-out access and often requires little digging. Pipe relining may be used to repair root-damaged pipes, seal cracks and holes, fill in missing pipe and seal joint connections underground, in roof drain pipes, in storm lines and under concrete. The relined pipe is seamless and durable, and all materials used in the relining process are non-hazardous.

PIPE BURSTING: The old pipe is burst underground and a new continuous pipe (no joints) is pulled through. If desired the new pipe can actually be of a slightly higher diameter than the old pipe. We make small access holes where the damaged pipe starts and ends. Using your broken sewer line as a guide, our hydraulic machine pulls full-sized replacement pipe through the old path and breaks up the damaged pipe at the same time. The new pipe is highly resistant to leaks and root intrusion, with a long life expectancy.
